B R O K E N !!!

Gummy sat across the canvas that stood at an angle in the middle of his studio cum room.. The sketch on his canvas was once again a beautiful piece of work. A girl who looked like a bride stood happily beside a guy who seemed the groom.. Gummy had started this sketch two years ago.. and he still hadn't completed it. He was working on it since two years, and today he felt that the time has come, he must finish it off..

Uncle and Aunty had just left.. even the door was still in motion after they tried to bang it on his head.. Zaygham, aka Gummy was engaged to their daughter Ghazal two years ago.. he was a famed artist then.. they studied in the same college, she was inspired by his work.she told her parents. They came. They met him. They were awestruck. He was famous. It was all set. They got engaged.

But time flies, it flew like the eagle. Later on, Gummy couldnt exactly produce the best of artwork. He was dimmed. His twinkle faded, and so did Ghazal's love for him or was it??

And today, she didn't even bother to call him, atleast admit that its all over. He swung the cell phone in his fists, shifted it from from one hand to the other, but it didn't ring once.. She had the nerve. All these two yrs she called on himevery day, every night.. an sms every morning.. what was all that.. just a sprinkle of colours on a canvas that were washed away by water??? Is love really all that??

They said he doesnt have a good work to do. He is idle. He can't find a decent job. But where were they or their thoughts when he was famous for his art, no one bothered that he wasnt working, no one cared that he is just an artist. No one asked him how will he pursue a good career. Gummy was one of those who didn't run after money. One of those who werent part of the money making factory. One of those who felt that life is a canvas to be splashed with colours, colours of beauty, love, morals, kindness, friendship.. He was an artist. He looked at life from an artist's eye. He thought Ghazal also had the same eye, but he was wrong.

He picked up his brush, dipped it in some black paint. walked over to the canvas.. converted the smiley faces into two sad images. And lastly, he drew a zig zagged line separating the girl and the guy. His sketch was over.

"I have finished the painting, sir.. you can come over to check it out.."

He was selling it off.. maybe this one would make him popular again, aftre all it wasn't painted with any ordinary paint.. it was done with his blood.. the image was broken and so was his heart.

Sometimes the best things in life should be seized immediately...

Time is harsh on relationships; it tarnishes them...

Why wait?

Why does anybody wait?

Lost!

"You must get these medicines, go down the road and you'll see the pharmacy, also get two syringes..Be quick, we don't have much time, she needs to be injected as soon as possible" Lil Karim nodded enthusiastically. He looked in the dirty pockets of his gray kurta , there was a folded handkerchief, he had tied rs 2000 carefully in a knot in that hanky. Just yesterday Maa had gotten her monthly pay. And here she was lying on a bed in the general ward of a gov't hospital. Is that what a person who works so hard as Maa get for a gift, when I was 5, and got admitted to school, Maa got me a big red ball, such a nice gift, and why did Maa get this?? Karim, though just merely 10 years old had thoughts deep and profound. He ran off, his dusty kurta flying in the air, the rubber chappal he wore were on the verge of tearing apart, but did that matter to Karim??.. Karim ran amidst the people, since he was just 10, not much big either, people weren't letting him go ah...

I Try!!

Back with a new post!! I was cleaning my drawers today just to find some old memoirs, like the other day I found my slam book.. I keep on dwellin in the past! Today, I found my old report cards.. Nice comments, some nice grades too.. The one thing that really caught my attention was the printed poem at the back of each report card, "Try Again" which goes like 'Tis a lesson you should heed, Try again.. If at first you don't succeed, Try again.. which reminded me of my own poem, "I Try!!", I thought of puttin it up here, to save it.. Here goes; Over the mountains, Across the seven skies, Where I haven't ever been, Above tops too high, I try, To let my voice, Be heard by you, But I'll never know, If you heard my cry, I try, Hope against hope, That I'll find you, If not in this world, Then somewhere in the sky, I try, To be the person, You wish to see me, I'll never do the worst, And bid you good bye, And yet, I try.
