Bride & Groom!

The bride was the typical Desi bride. Clad in a maroon sharara, she was at ther very best. Just below the stage, her mother sat, looking at her every now and then. The groom then entered. And then the grooms mother looked at him.

Sitting a bit far from them I don't know why, or how but I noticed all of this. And then the brides mother looked at the bride again, their eyes met, the bride smiled nervously, and the mother smiled confidently.

I remember my excitement, my nervousness, my confidence, and the longing!! yes, thats how it is. But I dont know why.. Why .. Did she see me! Was she also smiling? Was she happy like anything to see me clad in the white and pink sharara? Did she approve my look? She must have wanted to hug me, and hold me tight!!! Cuz thats what I wanted too!! And she must have prayed for me cuz she loved us.. and the sight was a beautiful one. Its her prayers that are hovering above us all the time, thank youuu!!

"You must get these medicines, go down the road and you'll see the pharmacy, also get two syringes..Be quick, we don't have much time, she needs to be injected as soon as possible" Lil Karim nodded enthusiastically. He looked in the dirty pockets of his gray kurta , there was a folded handkerchief, he had tied rs 2000 carefully in a knot in that hanky. Just yesterday Maa had gotten her monthly pay. And here she was lying on a bed in the general ward of a gov't hospital. Is that what a person who works so hard as Maa get for a gift, when I was 5, and got admitted to school, Maa got me a big red ball, such a nice gift, and why did Maa get this?? Karim, though just merely 10 years old had thoughts deep and profound. He ran off, his dusty kurta flying in the air, the rubber chappal he wore were on the verge of tearing apart, but did that matter to Karim??.. Karim ran amidst the people, since he was just 10, not much big either, people weren't letting him go ah...

I Try!!

Back with a new post!! I was cleaning my drawers today just to find some old memoirs, like the other day I found my slam book.. I keep on dwellin in the past! Today, I found my old report cards.. Nice comments, some nice grades too.. The one thing that really caught my attention was the printed poem at the back of each report card, "Try Again" which goes like 'Tis a lesson you should heed, Try again.. If at first you don't succeed, Try again.. which reminded me of my own poem, "I Try!!", I thought of puttin it up here, to save it.. Here goes; Over the mountains, Across the seven skies, Where I haven't ever been, Above tops too high, I try, To let my voice, Be heard by you, But I'll never know, If you heard my cry, I try, Hope against hope, That I'll find you, If not in this world, Then somewhere in the sky, I try, To be the person, You wish to see me, I'll never do the worst, And bid you good bye, And yet, I try. Wrote sometime in Apri...
